Restoration of Convex Photographs

We have restored and made replicas for numerous convex photographs.  Below are just a few samples.

Old convex portraits were common about 130 to 90 years ago and come in a variety of shapes, oval, semi oval, or rectangular with rounded edges.  They require special care and attention due to their thin paper and brittle mounting board to which they are attached.  Slight mishandling can easily cause cracks and bring them into pieces even while taken out of frame.  Any attempt to wipe, touch or putting them on a regular scanner can cause further damage adding further cost to repair and restoration.  We use an exclusive equipment and process for their digital conversion.  A process that does not result in a distorted image unlike scanning or image capture that others use.
